I recently wrote a tutorial on how to use Google fonts on your website or blog. However, a couple of people asked me how I use these Google fonts in my screenshots as well! So here I am, telling you how to install Google fonts on your computer. By installing Google fonts, you can then use 'em in softwares like Paint to design your logos and images!
Why This Post?
Why This Post?
Before all the so-called "experienced" bloggers jump right on me shouting that this ain't a topic of my niche, let me make myself clear!
I will write anything and everything that can help a newbie blogger. And as a blogger, we often design logos. We also use images/screenshots on which we write some text, either to make the image easy to understand or as a watermark.
Once the Google fonts are installed, you can use 'em on softwares like Paint, Word, Powerpoint, etc. This will help you better design your logos and images.
I mean, look at this screenshot below. Isn't the font of the text pleasing to the eyes?
This is a screenshot by Amit Agarwal in which he has used the font "Skippy Sharp" to write that awesome-looking text! (Oh and btw, I am also going to write a tutorial on how to setup a custom email address!)
Download Google Fonts:
1. Go to google.com/fonts and add the fonts (that you wanna download) to the "collection".
2. After adding the fonts [you want] to the collection, you can view the list at the bottom of the page. Simply click on the line that says Collection (number font families) and a small window will pop up.
In this example, I have 3 font families in my collection.
3. There will be a button called "Use" at the bottom-right. Click on that!
4. Click on the little downward-arrow button on the top-right of the page that appears.
5. Now click on the first line that says "Download the font families in your Collection as a .zip file"

A file named fonts.zip will be downloaded containing all the fonts (that you added to your collection) in TFT format.
Install Google Fonts:
Since almost all my visitors are Windows users, here's how you can install the fonts in Windows. (For Mac users, skip this Windows part and see below)
Windows
1. Open the .zip file with Windows Explorer.
2. All the font families will be present in their respective folders. Open a folder, double-click on the .ttf file (there maybe multiple files if your font has different styles) and click "Install".
Do the same for all the fonts that you downloaded!
Mac
I can't afford to stretch this tutorial any more so for Mac user, I'm gonna explain to you in short! You simply have to drag and drop the .ttf files in your system folder!
Open up the Finder >> From the menu, click on Go >> Hit the option key >> OpenLibrary >> Open Fonts >> And simply paste all the .ttf files in that folder!
You're done! You have successfully installed Google fonts on your computer (The process is the same for installing any font!). The fonts that you install will be available for use in all your softwares. Enjoy!
If you're still facing any problems in installing these fonts, feel free to leave a comment!
