This is a very very basic tutorial for those people who have just created their blogs on blogger and know nothing about it. This, and the following tutorials which I'll be posting next, will prove to be really helpful for people who are in the beginning stage of blogging. All my tutorials will be blogger-oriented. Why you ask? Because of 2 reasons:
- It is by Google.
- If you're still not satisfied, read the 1st reason again!
Why this tutorial?
First of all, congratulations for your brand new blogger blog. You have made your first step towards success! I am writing this tutorial because blogger's default templates are quite lame. Blogger offers full freedom i.e. you can change the code of your blog entirely if you want. We will use this to our advantage.
If you want to make any changes in your blog in terms of design, then it is necessary to know how to access the HTML code of your blog and edit it. Also, if you are watching any tutorial on Techsperia Blog, or any other blog in that case, there is a 99% chance that they will always tell you to change some or the other code in your blogger template. So here's how to do it. Also, I have written about how to find a particular piece of code in your blogger template.

How to edit the HTML code of your Blogger blog
1. Go to your blogger dashboard i.e visit blogger.com.
2. Click the little inverse-triangle and a drop down menu will appear. Select Template.
4. You're done. What you see now is your blog's HTML code. Now you can edit it and click on "Save Template" when you're done.
Tip: Before you start editing the code, I highly recommend that you download a copy of your template. If your changes don't come out the way you wanted, you'll be able to revert to the original version by simply uploading that downloaded copy.
Go to your blogger dashboard >> Template >> On the right top, click Backup/Restore. After that, if you want to download a copy of your template click Download full template and if you want to upload a previously downloaded copy then click Choose File.
How to find a particular piece of code
This will be really helpful to edit your code. With this trick, you can directly jump to the piece of code you want instead of searching the whole code for it! This trick is used by bloggers all over the world.
1. Go to your blogger dashboard >> Template >> Edit HTML
2. Now press CTRL + F on your keyboard. A small dialog box will appear.
Enter the code you want to find in that box and press enter. That code will be highlighted and you will be directly taken there!
In a nutshell
So today you learned how to edit your Blogger blog's HTML code, how to take a backup of your blog's template and also how to find a particular piece of code in your blog's code. These tutorials may look very silly as of now but I promise they are of great use and you will use 'em almost everyday!
